LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag
Racing Series, Pacific Division, event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway listing lane, driver
name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mark Woznichak Runs 7.989/134.15, Now #10
Right Lane: Steve Gasparrelli Runs 5.849/250.60, Now #4

3:41 p.m. ...and we are back. No details on Taylor yet, but no news is good news at this point.
The Woz leaves hard and then clicks it off. Gasparrelli make a clean pass into the current #4 spot.

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car

Left Lane: Ron August Jr Runs 8.749/102.94, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.992/144.71, Was #15
Right Lane: Mark Woznichak Runs 5.692/251.34, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.989/134.15, Was #16

Outside of a puff of smoke out of the headers near the lights, Woznichak makes a great pass straight
down the middle and into the new #2 position. August had some shake and spin off the line and then
the car made a hard move towards the center line before the 330 lights. He had to lift to keep it in his
lane.
6:57 p.m. Looks like the "puff of smoke" was a little damp! The Safety Safari guys are out laying down
the kitty litter from after the 1000 foot through the lights

LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car

Left Lane: Mark Woznichak Runs 8.423/109.27, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.692/251.34, Was #2
Right Lane: Roger Bateman Runs 5.768/249.76, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.730/249.35, Was #5

The WOZ leaves hard and then slows. Bateman runs well, but doesn't improve.

Taylor gets a good head start off the line and has to watch The Woz drive on by at the 330 lights.
Woznichak makes the first representative pass of the session to take the win and lane choice over
August in round two later this evening.

If August can get past the shake, this should be a fair match up. He gets away first and starts to open up
a lead right on down the track. I coundn't tell why, but Woznichak was off the throttle by mid-track.
8:40 p.m. August will have lane choice over Bateman in the final round later.

Las Vegas, Nev. April 20-22 2007
car got a little loose and Mark had to lift. The second qualifying run was straight down the middle of the
track running a 5.692 @ 251.34 mph, which would be good enough to hold on to the #2 qualifying
position. Unfortunately on that run we broke a crankshaft necessitating a engine change for the next
round. The final qualifying pass was a planned half track run to make sure every thing on the new motor
was OK.

In the First round we were matched up with Dennis Taylor And the Plumbing Concepts Camaro. Taylor
left first, but Mark quickly caught him to take the win with Low ET of round one a 5.712  @ 253.71 mph.
gaining him when the burst panel cracked causing the car to lose blower pressure and Mark eventually
had to shut the car off.  We were pleased with our #2 qualifying spot and semi-final finish and can do
with a little break as this is our 3rd race in 4 weeks. We have also have had allot of parts breakage,
which is not normal for us. Our next race is at Fontana in a couple of weeks  where we hope to do good
for the home town crowd.
